UK’s Youngest Ever Mum Gives Birth Aged 12 With Family Unaware Of Pregnancy

Reports suggest that a girl who recently gave birth at the age of 11 may be the youngest mother ever in the UK, with her family reportedly unaware of her pregnancy.

According to The Sun, the girl was just 10 years old when she became pregnant and delivered the baby earlier this month. Both mother and baby are reported to be in good health.

Social services are now looking into the circumstances surrounding the pregnancy and are in communication with the family, who were reportedly oblivious to the girl's condition.

An insider disclosed to The Sun, "It has come as a big shock. She's now being surrounded by expert help. The main thing is that she and the baby are OK. There are questions around why people did not know. That is very worrying."

The previous youngest mother in the UK was Tressa Middleton, who gave birth at the age of 12 in 2006. Middleton was compelled to give up her child after revealing that the child's father was her brother, who had raped her.

The record for the youngest parents is held by a father aged 13 and a mother aged 12, who had a child in 2014.

Puberty typically begins around the age of 11 for girls, but it can occur anywhere from eight to 14, influenced by factors such as weight. Younger pregnancies carry a higher risk of complications, including premature labor, infections, and pre-eclampsia.

While there was a reported case of another 11-year-old girl giving birth in the UK in 2017, no additional details emerged.

Tressa Middleton, who became Britain's youngest mom in 2006, later had a second child named Arihanna and expressed happiness after the challenges she faced with her first baby.

The youngest mother in the world is said to be Lina Medina, a Peruvian girl who gave birth at the astonishing age of five years and seven months in May 1939 to a boy named Gerardo. Initially believed to have a tumor, she was discovered to be seven months pregnant when taken to the hospital.
